Women’s Cross Country Finishes 19th in NCAA Regional Championship

In the women’s cross country team’s final meet of the season, they finished 19th overall with 514 points with a total time of 2:01:53.

Sara Parkinson and Suzanne Gabriel competed in there final meets and were the top two Retrievers to finish.

Parkinson finished 39th overall in 22:37 while Gabriel finished 63rd overall in 23:21.

Keri Wilson finished 98th overall in 24:00, Megan Arnold finished 143 overall in 25:05, while Mairin Leahy, a third senior, finished 171st overall in 26:43.

Parkinson Names All-Conference as Women’s Cross Country Finished Eighth

For the second consecutive year Sara Parkinson walked away from the America East Conference Meet with All-Conference honors.

She finished the meed sixth overall in 18:47.50 to give the Retrievers just six points.

Following her were Suzanne Gabriel who was 24th overall in 19:37.60, Keri Wilson in 20:03.50 for 34th place, Marin Leahy in 68th place in 21:35.90, and one position behind her was Megan Arnold in 21:46.20 to round out the scoring.

The women’s cross country team finished in eighth place with 178 points with a total time of 1:41:50.70.

Suzanne Gabriel won the Princeton Invitational

Suzanne Gabriel won the Princeton Invitation on Saturday with a time of 23:15.70, beating out the next best runner by eight seconds.

Following Gabriel was Sara Parkinson who finished 12th overall in 23:56.40, earning 10 points for UMBC.

Keri Wilson was the third Retriever to cross the finish line in a time of 24:27.70. The final two members of the scoring five were Megan Arnold (25:30.80) in 61st place, and Laura Blevins (26:16.10) in 79th place.

The women’s team finished fifth overall with a total time of 2:03:26.70 and average time of 24:41.34.

The lone Retriever in the race that was not in the scoring five was Cortney Crouse who finished 100th in 28:33.60.

Women’s Cross Country Finishes 34th at Paul Short Invitational

Out of 40 teams, the women’s cross country team finished in 34th place with a total time of 1:54.42 with 854 total points.

Unlike the previous meets this time it was Suzanne Gabriel who finished the race first amongst retrievers with 93 points. She did so in a time of 21:53.

Barely behind her was Parkinson in 108th place in a time of 22:02.

The next four were Keri Wilson (22:17), Megan Arnold (23:21), Cortney Crouse (25:11), and Mairin Leahy (25:43).

Women’s Cross Country Finish Third at UMES Cappy Anderson Invitationals

Sara Parkinson once again led the women’s cross country team to success. Here time of 18.07 in the 5k was 11th overall while fellow senior Suzanne Gabriel took 16th place in 18.39.

The 1-2 punch has been very good for UMBC this year and is expected to continue leading the team the way they have.

Keri Wilson finished the race in 19:21 while Megan Arnold (19:44) and Laura Blevins (20:16) finished out the five scoring runners.

The women’s team scored 75 total points.

Women’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth in Navy Invitational

In the 6K run at the Navy Invitational, seven Retrievers completed for the women’s cross country team. With 125 points the team finished in fourth place with a total time of 2:00:47.46, and an average time of 24:10.48.

Sara Parkinson lead the Retrievers with a time of 23:00.12, good enough for a sixth place finish.

Following Parkinson was Suzanne Gabriel with a time of 23:11.67, good enough for ninth place.

Finishing 26th overall Keri Wilson ran the race in a time of 23:52.45.

The only fourth finisher rounder out the top 50 of the race. Megan Arnold was the 50th person to cross the finish line with a time of 25:14.43.

The final three runners for UMBC were Laura Blevins, 55th place in 25:33.72, Mairin Leahy, 72nd place in 26:27.65, and Cortney Crouse in 83rd place in 27:28.56.
