Men’s lacrosse opens conference play with ten retrievers scoring a goal in a 14-8 win

UMBC had a great outing all around, except face-offs which has been a problem all year. UMBC went up 2-0 midway through the first before Stony Brook scored their first goal and eventually go into the half- down two 6-4. The second half was just dominating for UMBC. After scoring the last goal of the first half with six seconds left, UMBC continued for a 4 goal run and outscoring the seawolves 8-4 in the second half for the 14-8 win.

Matt Latham lead the offensive charge with a hat-trick while Peet Poillon and Chris Jones each scored two with seven others scoring one. Jeremy Blevins had seven saves in 58 minutes before Kevin Kohri recorded two and one goal in under two minutes of play.

the only problem was face-offs. Justin Radebaugh went 6-20 before Matt Curtain came in and went just 1-6. Ok to be honest UMBC is just much more talented than most of the America East and should win a lot of games, but when they play Albany it could pose problems as they are also nationally ranked.

Luckily UMBC has one more non-conference game with a game against Towson on Tuesday before their final four conference games.
