It was really sad to see Jay Greene and Darryl Proctor go out the way they did. Each had five turnovers in a sloppy championship game with no standing ovation, no curtain call, just quietly walking off the court in Binghamton with time winding down knowing their careers were done. UMBC was one of the best teams in the country once against in assists-to-turnover ration this year and they had a very uncharacteristic 17 turnovers (ten from them). I wish UMBC would have won that game not just because I’m a fan of the team but because Greene and Proctor really deserved it. They played in a tournament last year which they will remember forever but that was not how anybody should go out. I don’t even want to think about next year without them because I know there is no way UMBc could possibly replace them, which is something I don’t want to imagine, a team without Jay Greene and Darryl Proctor.

  1. There never will be another UMBC basketball team without Jay Greene and Darryl Proctor – at least in spirit. They’ll go down in history as the legends of the program and an inspiration to all who follow. 🙂
