Baseball Gets Swept by Maine

GAME 1: Maine 11, UMBC 5

More pitching woes. Kevin Clark gave up six runs and Ryan Morse came in relief to give up five for 11 black bear runs. Shawn Retz lead the hitting with a 2-3 day with a run and RBI while Justin Lamborn hit a three run home run in the sixth inning.

GAME 2:Maine 5, UMBC 4

In an attempt to break their losing streak UMBC lost a heart breaker to Maine in the final game of the series. Luke Diblasi gave up four runs in three innings but Travis Pearson pitched a nice game in relief as he gave up just one run in five innings. But that run was enough to the UMBC loss as he was credited with the loss. Rick Phillips lead UMBC with a 2-4 day with one run and four RBI’s as he hit a grand slam in the seventh inning to tie the game.
